The Model Home Look renovated my kitchen and I really enjoyed working with them. Mike Ford was great from concept and design through recommending and finding materials and finally through installation. He would meet with me based on my availability and explained options every step of the process. He also renovates bathrooms.

Choosing Colors

There are no right or wrong choices when choosing color for your kitchen.  In fact, this is an opportunity to express your own sense of style and to have some fun.

  • Light colors tend to make spaces feel larger, whereas dark ones can make them feel smaller, so you might want to avoid dark hues for a small kitchen.
  • Neutral colors - whites, beiges, tans, light browns, and natural stones - tend to blend well with any decorating scheme.  So choosing neutrals for permanent elements of the kitchen, from tile to flooring to countertops, is the safest way to ensure you won't grow tired of your choices and that potential homebuyers will not be put off by your selections.  Let the bold colors come from the details, such as window treatments and wall paint.
  • "Hot" colors-the reds, oranges, and yellows of fire -create an invigorating atmosphere.  "Cool" colors - the greens and blues of water- feel soothing and relaxed
